Seedlings Day Nursery

AGES 3 MONTHS TO 5 YEARS

A FANTASTIC LOCATION

Set in the beautiful grounds of the Bowthorpe Hall estate, we occupy the old Annex with an extended Pre-school room. We are a private day nursery for children aged 3 months to 5 years, open 7.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., Monday to Friday, for 51 weeks of the year.

OUR ETHOS

At Seedlings Day Nursery we strive to create a safe and stimulating environment in which children are free to explore and learn independently, as well as being supported by practitioners to achieve their full potential.
We implement this through play and exploration of the indoor and outdoor environments, which also includes Forest School sessions. Children are encouraged to explore, take risks, extend on their activities and engage their imaginations to take their learning opportunities further. Children are exposed to an environment rich with opportunity and experiences, celebrating their uniqueness and helping them to gain more understanding of themselves and the world around them.
We observe the impact of our ethos in the curious, adventurous, and happy children we care for every day.

EYFS

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. At Seedlings Day Nursery our learning programmes are planned within EYFS policy along with our own Nursery Curriculum.
We were rated GOOD by Ofsted in March 2023. You can view our report on the Ofsted website here and a copy of our Certificate here.

OUR ROOMS

In each room your child will be assigned a key worker who will be responsible for creating and maintaining a learning and development profile on our online tool. This profile will record major milestones in your child’s journey and will assist both the nursery and the family to celebrate daily events as well as to highlight any areas where more encouragement or guidance is needed.

Your child’s keyperson will make observations of your child, using a tablet computer to photograph, record and submit reports which are subsequently shared with parents and carers as well as held on a central database so we can manage overall progress. The Manager and Deputy conduct joint observations and assessment with key staff to provide support and to pass on good practice from around the nursery.

Taking inspiration from our surroundings our rooms are named after a selection of beautiful trees found around the estate.
